Deciding to be minimal.

Drawing like no one is watching.

These are primal marks. The kind you make before you have words. Sometimes I work so hard to get to that special place in my mind. A place with only a visual vocabulary.

White plays a part again here where the holes are accentuated by additional marks.
It's a funny little experiment. It's crazy, fun, fuzzy.

Finally, dealing with the March drawings. March 1st on May first I write this little post.
Energetic this one.

Almost to the end of February with my uploads and blog posts. It's a bit of a direction change with some strange blurry tools and using white to obliterate and sometimes blend with colors. I always have a lot of different mediums in white for my work. I like using it additively instead of an eraser. I tested that out in this drawing and I think I'll try it in some upcoming.

This drawing feels a bit like a box was opened and the wind blew it's contents about the room.
It is energetic, happy, joyful, and surprising.

I like it's tempo.

Part three of my studio saga.

Finally after calling stew — she saved me — I had my keys and got into my studio.

I then had a full afternoon of drawing.

Sometimes it's really a good day to look at someone else's work and get inspired.

Lines and interruptions.

The rhythm of my days. That's what this drawing feels like.

I'm moving along and there are these strange but pleasing interruptions interruptions interruptions add joy or consternation. They are the fabric of life and this drawing is my unconscious rambling yet rhythmic being.

It was a long day in the studio today. I was a bit under the weather so everything takes exponentially longer.

But this was what my six drawings looked like when they were matted and framed. Wonderful frames from Seven Arts in Old City.

I really just let whatever happen in this drawing.
Holding on to a simple set of tools. Scribbling a bit. Smudging a bit. A little bit of red. It's a bit like wire to me. Hard to bend and meet my expectations.
