Spending time in the studio is important — even if I don't make any art.

Egyptian waters is an incredibly successful series of drawings for me. I have two full series each has 10 drawings. Two of the drawings were recently acquired on the west coast. The two are from the second series and are shown below.

There is interest in four others. I have my fingers crossed.

Showing my work.

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about being more focused on showing some of my work. That means making sure I have images to post on my website. This isn't difficult for my smaller drawings I scan them and that is the best solution.

A little yellow jelly beanie.

Another adventure in scribbles.

Sometimes a girl has got to scribble.

Order, I don't need no stinking sense of order.

Green?

So what's that about?
It just showed up in this drawing. Maybe there was spring in the air. Must have been. I like the energy of this one. Little bits of transparency too.

I have no idea what this one is about.

It just happened. I don't think I had anything to do with it. It's like struggling.

Spirals.

This drawing is ruled by loops. Everything like a molecular model gone mad.

Testing a vocabulary I know very well. The marks can't be as tight as I would make them in a pencil drawing. The marks are more lyrical. I like them. I might experiment with these again.

Crazy lines in this one. I don't usually make marks like this at all.

It was fun to make some marks that felt like I was using a really saturated Sharpie. This was so quick and so much fun. The other marks were from a set I created and have enjoyed using so far through the series.
