This is a look at the gallery with my work and Amy Ralston sculpture. Hanging the drawings was almost as much an installation.

Really enjoyed the show.

A single drawing and Amy's sculpture. Well situated in the front northwest corner.

It's been difficult to concentrate on making new work while my show has been happening. Everything I have been doing has been in support of the show —telling people about the drawings writing and telling people about the work — being immersed in the drawings.

It's hard to be in the present when all you do is talk about the past.

I've been working on some ideas for creating better task lighting in the studio. The current situation includes several 8 foot work lights. These give me headaches after extended exposure so I need to make a change.

The truth of drawing is the meditation; the utter loss of self — becoming an instrument of rhythm and mark.

I've begun a new series of drawings that are based on drawing 18 lines.

I draw 18 lines with the same grade of graphite without resharpening. While drawing I can't think of anything but the line and what number it is in the set of the marks.

Everything is about the line.

It I lose track of the line things happen.

These are large drawings for me. 30 x 40 inch Rives BFK white.

Thrilled that I've sold this drawing.

It's one of a small series. This was shown in my solo show in 2010. It's a drawing using pastel, pencil,  graphite, and charcoal on Rives BFK. It's one of my larger drawings at  30 x 40 inches, was created 2008, and first shown in 2010.

I've begun a new series of drawings. Again on synthetic paper. It's really the smoothness of the paper that motivates the most recent work. Everything sits on the surface.

I've been working on new drawings for a couple weeks now. I just uploaded my new series Winter Twins to my website. I've added one below.

A whole layer of new marks came into play as I discovered something that needed to be just below the surface. I know that is cryptic but it's true and I can't explain it any better than that. Looking forward to reviewing the drawings again and determining what other marks are missing.

Leaving the drawings waiting too long can melt them.
