art commission

By The Sea goes to it's home.

Last week I finished a commission.

The buyer/collector came and viewed it for the first time, paid for it, and took it home. I'm trying to take it all in. It was all quicker than I thought it would be. No real time to spend with the finished piece.

The results as always a product of the process. The process in chosing colors and marks was considerable. Many experiments to determine the process and the tools. It is one of the larger drawings I have made to date.

Listening to the seaside story.

This past week I spent some time on a barrier island listening to what the sand, sea, and sky had to say.

I've been commissioned to create a piece for a beach house. I'm planninga couple of sketch trips to capture some rhythms and a color samples that will be used in the drawing. The feeling of late summer was in the air everywhere I went.

Took this little snap on my visit.

Looking forward to my additional trips.
