I pushed this drawing to have additional values. It’s not restful like I had hoped.

But I love this blue and the fabric feeling is imortant in this as well as many of my drawings.

Thread is a theme and an important gathering of marks.

This is where what I’m doing in my studio came back to my drawing-a-day project. I have been punching holes in some paper lately and I decided to try it in a digital drawing.

This drawing has a physical structure that is compact and singular.

Whiz, whiz, whiz

That’s the sound I heard when I made this drawing and I hear it each time I look at it again.
The drawing is the expression of those tin toys that you push a trigger and watch the sparks inside a color tinted piece of plastic or a metal spinning childs top.

Pastel colors?
Where did they come from? I think this happens from the nature of digital medium. An illuminated screens are so saturated that occassionally I overreact in my color choices.
The result here looks different in print than on the screen; a bit more dull.
Still there is something about the ordering of the marks that draws me to looking at this over and over again.
