Just trying to have a lighter hand in this drawing. Trying to float a bit. Not be caught up in making too many marks. And to change the color palette to something unexpected. It feels good and I was surprised how it looks off the iPhone.
After a spring trip north. The layers of pine needles and brown oak leaves seems to have taken over a place in my mind. I remember this feeling when I was standing near the doorway to the cabin facing toward the woods. The exploration of distant memory aways seems to find it's way into my work.
Scratchy sounds come to mind when I revisit this drawing. The wonderful out of focus circles behind a fence of orange wire, Almost caged in. I remember that I had passed a huge planting of day lilies the day I drew this. Everything informs what I draw.
Another drawing with a certain amount of unruliness.
I love to be drawing without a care for the outcome. Making marks everywhere and seeing what happens. In this drawing I just kept adding, layer after layer.
