documentation

Elena Bouvier shooting my drawings.

This past week many of my drawings were photographed. The documentation process is a very exacting one. My drawings have very subtle changes that are difficult to capture without the help of a professional.

I called on Elena Bouvier, friend, artist, professional photographer to capture the true feeling of my drawings.

I’m looking through the images now to add them to my website.

So exciting to have them to share.

Soundings Wave 1 documented

It's a wonderful thing having your work documented by a professional. The managing of light so that it is even and soft showing your work as it should be seen.

I know that my work has very subtle marks and value changes that are difficult to see in photographs. That's why it is so important to have a professional photograph my work. It's also important for that photographer to capture the spirit of the work and manage what the camera sees.

Now that this drawing is photographed I can work on the hardware to install it at the collectors home. Photographing that will be next.

studio update : March

Showing my work.

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about being more focused on showing some of my work. That means making sure I have images to post on my website. This isn't difficult for my smaller drawings I scan them and that is the best solution.

October : Documenting work.

Spent saturday with my pal photographing a body of work that was too big to scan. It's exciting to think about getting this work on the web. It's also cool to think about the whole process of documenting.

The time moves quickly when you have a really good photographer and you are prepared. Yet, you have the time to consider each piece you shoot and become familiar with it again.
