Schrubs?
We have these little bushes outside by the sidewalk. These come to mind now — not sure they were in my mind when I drew it.
Funny little elipse of marks.

Somehow I think this was all about having passed that scrubby pine with a squirrel’s nest in it.

Funny how those things make such lovely picticures in one’s mind and they can make it out the ends of your fingers.

Feels like a rubbing, yes?
That’s how I made the marks, rubbing over and over again.

A more successful effort toward the weaving of marks and the enclosure of objects.

More opacity here and more interesting shapes.

Everything about this one is stiff, spiky.

The color reflects that I had some serious energy when I drew it. The eliptical forms feel as though they are stuck together and I like that.

The layers have less depth than I had hoped for when I began the drawing.

New tools.
Weaving.
Another nest or pillow.
I imagine these in my hands with sticks and string, maybe cheesecloth. I might have to build this.

New tools.
Glass onion.
New shape and inspiring results.

String comes into play. Enjoying the use of transparency. Controlled scribbling.
A nest of lines.

Pink has raised it’s head again.
This time it feels more approachable in this drawing.
Gentle with flowing motion. You could spend a long time looking at this one.

A grid of marks is comforting.
I wanted to experiment with a tool I created to react sorta like a Sharpie.
I like it.
