Saturday was a studio day.

I was up early and out the door without having coffee. With such an early start I figured I had some terrific beans at the studio and I'd take some half and half with me. I like having a fresh cup while sitting on the fire escape outside my studio.

Most of my drawing has a series of marks that are repeated in rhythm and sometimes in tandem with other marks.
This was a simple experience. Drawing a coil. Not a spiral.

These are marks I love to see. Sitting quietly together. Related and not — simultaneously.

I really had to take something away in this drawing.

The scribbles beneath repetitive and just trying to get some energy started. Then I could make a drawing.

Something different.

Quick. Draw.

Where did the green come from?

A horizontal celebration.

Simple.

Don't think. Breathe every time you make a mark.

Still working with graphite marks. These are almost like I drew them with my left hand. I couldn't possibly draw with my left hand on the iPhone. Purely experimental
