Today I made several small measurement drawings. These are acrylic ink on Yupo paper. I'm playing with layering multiple drawings also. Pretty interesting I'm gonna try layering the with vinyl screws and washers.
I decided to make a little vid of them.

I have been working on several small sketchbooks recently. I have been making single pen dip drawings on each new recto.
I'm using different inks and different pens to draw in each book. These are two of the books I am working on. The orange book is made with a less flexible nib and acrylic ink. The yellow book has walnut ink drawings made with a flexible fine point nib.
The drawings create a linear tale made line by line and page by page.

I packed up my art gobag before the blizzard. It was essential that I be able to make drawings while the storm did its thing.
It was terrific to be sequestered with all my tools and sketchbooks and papers for days. Here are a couple pics of my unpacked bag spread out on the kitchen/dining table. It's days later and I still have the pop up studio working. It's wonderful to be able to make work at home too.
So now I am designing a small space that I can have drawing supplies here all the time and make my smallest drawings and books here.

Friday was my first studio day in weeks.
These are two of the drawings I made in the measurements series the first of 2016. I'm planning a large series that can be hung together to create a larger piece.
I'm deciding on the hues now and plan to draw quite a number of small pieces.
This is the start.

It's been weeks since I spent time in my studio.
But today I got some time to be there. Be there. I began by lighting a candle and incense. Then I walked around my worktable and slowly began to select tools that would be used and those that would be put away. I hung unfinished pieces on the walls to revisit at another time. I circled my worktable until the area was ready for me to make drawings.
I had selected my pens, my ink, my substrate.

It's been difficult getting some steady time in the studio. Luckily I picked some work that requires waiting. The panels are prepped and ready for drawings to happen. I love the process of getting ready to make a drawing almost as much as making the drawing itself.
I stood looking at them and looking at them. That untouched white surface was as you would expect — difficult to approach.

I've gathered all my images for drawing-a-day in a coffee table book/catalog. Finally it's printed. All 366 drawings are in full color, printed from the original iPhone drawing files. Art journal entries are included along side each drawing. I want to thank the many folks whose interest in the project encouraged me to make this book a reality.

This is what it looks like when I use Nori to mount watercolor paper to a panel. My long and short series is on 12 x 12 inch panels. Each drawing is a pair of panels and one has mounted watercolor paper for the surface. As you can see I am using the latest technology here to press and secure a sheet of paper for one panel.
Nori is slow drying so I usually wait 48 hours.

I'v edecided to work on a larger version of my Radical Warp series.
Let's see what drawing a vertical version is like. This is the start of a new drawing and a photo of my studio with work in progress. I get some studio time again tomorrow.

Working on two book simultaneously.
These are two of the books I am working on for RiTUAL Reading Room. I'm working on several ideas at once. The book on the left is about obliterating and revealing through repetitive mark-making,
The second book is an expression of my measurement work. Each dip of the pen makes a new field of color on each page.
I'm still working on both of these. I'll know more as I draw.
