Decided to keep the same color palette and some flowing marker-like tools.

I've always loved making these elliptical shapes. They are like sea shells to me. After I had made this drawing I thought of mussels.

Pretending I have transparent paint markers.

The color glides across the surface.

Starting a new series called 18 lines.

Each of these drawings will only have 18 lines. I began a test on a synthetic paper with graphite yesterday. The quality of the lines are what I was looking for, but the visual experience from a distance is not.

These are repetitive, meditative pieces a response to the sounding series.

For my last series of drawings I constructed an acetate mask to make the background color fields on which I would place my marks. This was successful and I like that way of creating color fields. But I want to make a different single stroke mark. I could use a brush to do that but it would use too much pigment for the surface I want.

The studio is cleaned up and I'm back to work experimenting with two new series of drawings. This pic is after my coffee was brewed and I was taking a break after working for about 4 1/2 hours. I'm not exactly sure how I even took this weird little selfy.

Lightness.

Dancing, floating, weightlessness.

A good start.

Deciding to be minimal.

Drawing like no one is watching.

These are primal marks. The kind you make before you have words. Sometimes I work so hard to get to that special place in my mind. A place with only a visual vocabulary.

White plays a part again here where the holes are accentuated by additional marks.
It's a funny little experiment. It's crazy, fun, fuzzy.
